Traffic Engineering & Transport Planning
Within the Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning field there are a broad range of reports and services needed by private and government organisations. We have prepared a variety of certificates, reports and studies for Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning.
Here at Headway Traffic and Transport, we support our clients by having staff with experience in local, state and private organisations. It is our aim to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients on all projects by:
-
Using our knowledge and experience from working in and with the Government sector.

-
Understanding the challenges associated projects can present, and how these may impact desired outcomes.
Feasibility / Transport / Pedestrian / Cyclist Studies
A Feasibility Study reviews the practicality of a proposed change to a traffic and transport network, or an element that impacts traffic and transport. It ensures that prior to the commencement of any planning, the expectations of the community and/or project objectives can be achieved.

Parking Studies
A Parking Study is conducted to identify parking demands and vehicle movement patterns. This information is used to determine strategies that will best deliver the desired outcomes.

Vehicle Access and Car Park Design
Headway Traffic and Transport have designed vehicle access and car park designs for all types of developments including parking feasibility studies that reviewed demand requirements and provided intelligent designs taking into consideration user demands and site characteristics. We have developed designs for single and multi-level parking areas.
We also provide design verification services. In some instances an architect or other consultant may have prepared the parking configuration for a development. We are typically engaged to verify the design to ensure it satisfies the required standards.

Traffic Impact Assessment (TIAs), Traffic Impacts Statements (TISs) and Traffic Studies
A Traffic Impact Assessment is a report that assesses the traffic implications of a proposed development. Each governing authority will have their own conditions and requirements depending on the type of development.
A Traffic Impact Assessment must consider all impacts on traffic, transport, parking, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Intersection and Network Traffic Modelling and Analysis
We regularly complete intersection and network modelling and analysis for a variety of projects including:
-
New developments and land use changes that are considered to have increased traffic demand and therefore additional impact on the local and state road network
-
Where long term traffic changes are being considered to improve intersection or network performance
-
For temporary construction works that involve modifying the road network for long term temporary traffic arrangements

Intersection Design (Signalised and Non-Signalised)
The design of intersections have a significant impact on the capacity of the intersection and priority and safety of road users. We ensure a holistic approach is taken when designing an intersection, whether it be signalised or non signalised, to ensure optimised functionality and enhanced safety for all road users.
