From circulation and parking design assessment, preparation of signage & line marking plans, to issuing traffic engineering occupation certificate, Headway Traffic and Transport assisted the builder in ensuring that the facility will be provided with safe and accessible parking and pedestrian facilities.

Headway Traffic and Transport was engaged by Taronga Conservation Society Australia to develop a Traffic Impact Assessment that determines the traffic and transport impacts associated with the development of Taronga Western Plains Zoo. Headway Traffic and Transport assessed the potential traffic impacts of the proposed development to the surrounding intersections via SIDRA modelling and verified that the impacts are considered acceptable. Headway Traffic and Transport provided advice on access road design, internal road circulation, and provision of basic right turn and left turn treatments to the access road.

Headway Traffic and Transport was engaged by North Sydney Council to undertake traffic modelling and prepare a Traffic Impact Assessment of three options for a proposal to change the traffic configuration along Grosvenor Lane between Ben Boyd Road and Young Street in Neutral Bay, NSW. We extensively assessed the current and potential traffic conditions of the proposed traffic configuration alternatives in the study area. This included SIDRA modelling and Swept Path Feasibility Assessment. This has helped Council to determine future actions to resolve community safety and transport concerns.

We assessed the potential traffic impacts of the proposed subdivision via SIDRA modelling and verified that the impacts are acceptable. The internal roads and access arrangements were verified to be consistent with the requirements of Council DCP.

Headway Traffic and Transport was engaged by Philter Brewing to prepare a Green Travel Plan to provide its employees sustainable transport alternatives due to limited off-street parking and to minimise the impacts associated with private vehicle movements. In consideration of Philter Brewing employees’ residence and willingness to consider sustainable transport, we identified specific objectives and targets for the Green Travel Plan. Since initial issuance of the Green Travel Plan there have been positive outcomes achieved including reduction of private vehicle use and increase in walking and cycling.

After the bushfires that devastated the community of Mogo in early 2020, Headway Traffic and Transport was engaged by the Department of Education and Training to develop a car park feasibility study, providing off -street parking for the local public school. With the existing access requiring schoolchildren to cross the Princes Highway, the project identified two suitable designs to improve access for students, teachers and parents.

The management strategy has provided safe parking, reduced customer complaints and efficient customer communication system by permitting residents to park trailers in front of their own property, provision of trailer parking areas, and implementation of a digital trailer parking permit. This strategy has identified and provided the opportunities to improve the management of parking and has satisfied both trailer owning and non-trailer owning residents and visitors.

Headway Traffic and Transport supported the client in the development of Depena Carpark through various consultations, design review, and provision of traffic engineering design plans. We ensured that the design of the carpark complies with relevant standards and provides safe and efficient pick-up and drop-off for the adjacent school. Furthermore, we were able to assist the client in addressing resident concerns on access arrangements and reported incidents of speeding and hooning.

The audit team was able to identify hazards and risks for the client’s consideration in their pursuit of pedestrian safety when the facility starts operating.

Headway Traffic and Transport completed multiple roadwork stage Road Safety Audits for the implementation of the traffic management plan associated with Turrella Train Station upgrade project. The traffic management plan consisted of pedestrian detour and changes to lane alignments at Reede Street adjacent to the station. The pedestrian detour has been identified by the audit team to have created additional risks to pedestrian safety while the changes in the alignment resulted to risks concerning driver and vulnerable road user safety. The audit team provided the client treatment options which helped the client in minimising the identified risks.
